We are a group of researchers in the Faculty of Education, Peninsula campus whose passion is sport, physical activity and outdoor recreation. Our research delves into:

Key research areas

Our particular focus is the study of Movement, Environment and Community (MEC) and their interrelationships.

We apply Socio-ecological theory and Experiential education pedagogy approaches to our research of movement, environment and community.

Our goals

We wish to contribute to:

  • the promotion of individual health and well-being,
  • physically active and engaged communities, and
  • the care of natural environments and the sustaining of social environments through various sports and outdoor recreations.

Our research/teaching model
